Michelle Bartlett, Associate Elementary Director
What’s your favorite movie?
The A&E version of Pride and Prejudice
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a lawyer.
What do you love most about your job at Pathway?
I love the fact that I get to work with both kids and adults. Seeing life changing events in the lives of kids is super rewarding too. I love to talk about life with the elementary kids, what they are going through, how their school year is going, and just being a part of their lives each week is very fun!
What does “the family place” mean to you?
The “family place” I think can have a profound impact on the life of a child. When we as a church embraced the knowledge that our children are influenced from both directions-the heartbeat of our own homes as well as the love from the church-these two together are more influential than one of those alone. I know that the “family place” will only continue to be more relevant to our families at Westlink in the future.
What is one of your proudest moments?
Seeing my kids heads pop up out of the water after they were baptized! They were so proud of themselves and so happy about what they had just done!
Your first job?
I was a lifeguard at the Augusta Municipal Pool!
What is something most people don’t know about you?
My husband and I ran the Walt Disney World Marathon (not together though, he was much too fast).
Favorite candy/snack?
Hot Tamales are my first choice, strawberry Twizzlers would be my second.
What inspires you?
My family inspires me to always try to put others first. It is far too easy to fall back into our selfish nature, my family keeps me striving to live selflessly.
What are you reading right now?
I am reading “Case for Christ.” I love this book!
